Front fence

Well we started the front fence. There is still a top cap and trim for the street side to be finished. Greg is going line the inside with wood so we are not looking at shiny metal. I started the rusting process by coating the street side with muriatic acid, then vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and finally salt water washes. It has yet to rust as magically as all the claims on the internet, but it is not shiny anymore.

Let there be light

The new roof is being put on right now. Hopefully the guys will finish today. Yesterday they put in a small dome skylight in the bathroom. This is great because there was no natural light before, dye to the bathroom being in the center of the house.

The last two weeks we have been digging and moving rock and dirt around in the front yard. The rocks are now surrounding the back patio. We decided to continue the cinder block wall along the front yard and will have a galvanized metal fence that faces the street. After some treatments it will have a rusted patina. Also this week the reading nook in the living room was wall papered. Thanks John Golden for the beautiful paper!
